Praise for Obama from Son of Saul

SyndicateThanks to Voice of Sanity reader Larry Shepherd for passing along a quote from Saul Alinsky’s son, L. David Alinsky, in a letter he wrote to the Boston Globe on August 31, 2008. Following is an extended version of the quote Mr. Shepherd sent:
“Barack Obama’s training in Chicago by the great community organizers is showing its effectiveness. It is an amazingly powerful format, and the method of my late father always works to get the message out and get the supporters on board. When executed meticulously and thoughtfully, it is a powerful strategy for initiating change and making it really happen. Obama learned his lesson well.
“I am proud to see that my father’s model for organizing is being applied successfully beyond local community organizing to affect the Democratic campaign in 2008. It is a fine tribute to Saul Alinsky as we approach his 100th birthday.”
Isn’t it remarkable that the rest of the media didn’t pick up on this story immediately and run with it? Worse, isn’t it disgusting that no Republican candidate dared to bring it up? Since the time of David Alinsky’s letter, thanks in great part to Glenn Beck, Obama’s immense number of associations with communists and other radicals has become common knowledge to those Americans who made a choice not to become anesthetized.
Timidity and appeasement have caused the near death of both the Republican Party and the United States of America. And near death will become actual death if intimidated Republicans cave in on the debt-ceiling scam or if the Duplicitous Despot manages to lie his way into being reelected in 2012.
It’s time for Republican presidential hopefuls who are serious about removing this murky Marxist from office to start raising some of the hundreds of indefensible issues about his mysterious past. Why are Republicans so afraid of speaking the truth?
Were it not for the fact that we have a corrupt (criminal?) media in this country, Obama’s past and present associations with anti-American hate mongers, his sealed college papers, his conveniently unavailable birth certificate (forget the insulting online PDF version), his past verbal and written redistribution-of-wealth statements, and his far-left voting record in the Senate would have been all over the news.
And that, in turn, would have made him an early dropout in his run for the Democratic nomination. Of course, it also would have left us with Hilla the Hun as our first woman president. But, even so, Americans would have been well served had they remembered the old adage: Better the devil you know than the devil you don’t.
Alas, however, one must not allow one’s life to become a game of “ifs.” Success results from acknowledging reality and successfully dealing with it. The Marxist in the Oval Office is a reality. Now it’s time to lock arms and successfully deal with that reality.
